I had the pleasure of taking a free Knowledge Commons DC class taught by Mitch Goldstein and Anne Jordan of Hypothesis, Ltd. It was entitled “Looking Closer: A Photographic Image-Making Workshop.” The main focus was on the difference between looking and seeing. In this current trend of capturing snapshots of everything, we often document the world around us but don’t really look deeper into it. This workshop was about revealing what the human eye normally doesn’t or can’t see without the aid of a camera.
It was inspiring and great to connect with the fellow VCU alumni. Here are my favorite images from my experience.
